If you haven’t yet had the chance to experience Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album, “Guts,” it’s time to pause whatever you’re doing and immerse yourself in it. Released just last week, this album serves as compelling evidence that the 20-year-old singer-songwriter is not a mere flash in the pan; she’s here to make a lasting mark. This follow-up album seamlessly continues where her debut, “Sour,” left off, offering more heart-wrenching confessions and laugh-out-loud call-outs. However, Rodrigo’s distinctive self-awareness and biting critique set her apart from her contemporaries.
Notably, critics have taken notice as well, with Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME, and the New York Times showering “Guts” with high praise. In his review of the album, New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica notes, “Rodrigo is a songwriter of rather astonishing purity — even in her most stylized lyrics, she never wanders far from the unformed gut-kick of a feeling.”
With such acclaim, what’s the logical next step for a young artist like Rodrigo? Going on tour, of course. The Grammy award-winning artist has officially unveiled her “Guts World Tour.” The tour commences in Palm Springs, California, on February 23, 2024, and encompasses an impressive 57 dates. Among these dates, you’ll find a stop at the Kaseya Center in Miami on March 6, 2024. Opening the Miami show will be the talented singer-songwriter Chappell Roan. Additionally, the tour boasts other outstanding openers, including the alternative-rock icons the Breeders, UK songstress PinkPantheress, and the soul-meets-pop sensation Remi Wolf.
With the tour expected to draw high demand, Live Nation, the tour’s producer, is kindly urging fans to register in advance for ticket sales via ticketmaster.com/oliviarodrigo. The registration period extends until Sunday, September 17, at 10 p.m. Following the conclusion of the registration period, lucky fans will be randomly selected to receive a code granting them access to ticket sales on Wednesday, September 20, and Thursday, September 21. Ticket prices are expected to range from $49.50 to $199.50 for standard admission.
